Something I should have drawn a long time ago, since I'm very inspired by his music and use a number of his lyrics/songs in my artwork. Of course I'm talking about the awesome (and Canadian!
I was looking for pics of him to make nerdy icons of, and I happened upon this pic n' I just loved everything about it. The colours, the textures, the composition, Matt... so of course I had to draw it I drew it on Oekaki using this pic as reference [link] and it took me like 9 hours @___@ but i was really super picky about all the tiny details. It's still not 100%, but eh, it's a good enough likeness. anyhoo, enjoy the glory that is Matt! Let's see if the few Matt Good fanatics on my watch know what song the title comes from *** Edit *** HOLY CRAP!!! I can't believe I got a DD!! Thank you so much to everyone for the lovely comments! Since a number of people have been asking what the heck oekaki is, I thought I'd put a little description up. Oekaki is a very basic drawing program. It's a java applet that allows you to draw your picture right on the web and then post it on a message board for others to see and comment on. It only has two layers to work with and a limited selection of tools to use. It also has an animation feature, which allows you to watch your drawing after you've posted it, which is not only fun, but it's a great learning tool for others to see how you go from start to finish. *** Edit-edit *** since the animation file on the oekaki board for this is long gone, I decided to slap together a craptacular animated gif of progression pics from making of this pic. I actually uploaded it a while ago, but forgot to put the actual link here. So, if you wanna watch this pic being drawn, go here Daily DeviationGiven 2004-04-06When I was told that And I'm Just a Monkey... by ~luvmegabyte was oekaki, I didn't believe it at first. After a good solid ten minutes of staring at this piece, I concluded I wasn't being lied to and proceeded to be amazed. This piece is an example of the absolutely incredible work that can be done in an oekaki program - take a good look! (Suggested by $damphyr and Featured by `silentkitty) |
